About the position

The Music Instructor at School of Rock is responsible for delivering high-quality music education through private lessons and rehearsals. This role focuses on creating a dynamic and inspiring learning environment for students, ensuring they not only learn songs but also the fundamentals of music. The instructor embodies the spirit of rock and roll and plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall student experience, helping them develop both music and life skills.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction through private lessons and show rehearsals.
• Ensure students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs, using the School of Rock Method™.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans using our patented teaching Method, Books and Method App.
• Communicate with parents on the progress of students by creating quality lesson notes and assignments in the School of Rock Method App for at-home practice.
• Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible while at the school.
• Pitch in during canceled lessons in the overall execution of the program.
• Assist in rehearsals and with the upkeep of lesson facilities.

Requirements

• 2+ years experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Strong customer relations skills with the ability to deal well with a wide range of customers.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Resourceful with good problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor.
• Passion for teaching.
