About the position

The Music Specialist position at Coustics LLC involves providing part-time private or semi-private music instruction to students on various instruments. The role includes band coaching for small rock/pop ensembles, supporting live performances and recordings, and offering administrative support to the music school as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide private or semi-private music instruction using a proprietary curriculum.
• Instruct students in techniques needed to play in small groups.
• Direct small groups in playing, performing, and recording songs.
• Support private student placement in pop/rock ensembles in collaboration with the School Director.
• Set up and break down equipment at the school and events.
• Assist management with customer service and prospect phone calls.
• Perform school maintenance functions as needed.
• Assist in moving furniture, equipment, and materials.
• Help with basic repair of minor site equipment and instruments.

Requirements

• Valid Teaching Certification or degrees in music preferred.
• Experience in music instruction or related field.
• Ability to play a musical instrument; multi-instrumentalists preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of music theory and technique relevant to primary instruments.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment and Microsoft Office software.
• Proficient English speaking and writing skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in band coaching or ensemble direction.
• Additional language skills are a plus.
