About the position
The Cashier position at Music Central involves managing customer transactions and providing excellent service in a small music store specializing in music supplies, lessons, instrument rentals, repairs, and sales. The role requires a friendly and attentive individual with a basic knowledge of musical instruments and retail experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
- Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
- Collect payments whether in cash or credit
- Issue receipts, refunds, or change
- Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
- Greet customers when entering or leaving the store
- Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
- Handle merchandise returns and exchanges
- Basic work organizing and moving product
- Restring guitars, basses, violin, viola, and cello
- Sign up new lessons and instrument rentals
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of musical instruments (woodwind, brass, strings)
- Work experience as a retail cashier or in a similar role in sales
- Basic PC knowledge
- Strong communication skills
- Time management skills
- Customer satisfaction-oriented
