About the position

Bach to Rock Redmond is seeking a part-time Music Teacher to provide lessons in voice, piano, guitar, drums, and other instruments. The role focuses on creating a fun and engaging learning environment for students of all ages, with opportunities to teach both private and group lessons, including rock bands and ensembles. The position offers a flexible schedule and allows teachers to concentrate on teaching while the school manages administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Teach private lessons in piano, voice, guitar, drums, and other instruments at the Redmond school.
• Create an encouraging, fun, and focused lesson atmosphere.
• Assess a student's readiness to join a band or ensemble.
• Help students work on performances.
• Optional: Teach group lessons or rock bands/ensembles.
• Optional: Teach recording arts and/or record sessions in the recording studio.

Requirements

• Must be able to read music notation and have a good understanding of music theory.
• Must possess advanced technique and be able to demonstrate this on their primary instrument(s).
• Effective time management and organizational skills to be on time for lessons and keep students on task.
• Comfortable as a performer (either solo or group).
• Ability to be engaging with both children and adults with a variety of personalities.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience teaching group lessons or rock bands/ensembles.
• Experience in recording arts.
