About the position

The Music Teacher position at Fusion Academy focuses on providing individualized music education to students in grades 6-12. The role emphasizes a student-centered approach, fostering creativity and critical thinking through music creation, audio recording, and traditional instrumental instruction. The teacher will adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one teaching in music creation, audio recording, and traditional musical instruction.
• Focus 70% of teaching on musical creativity through music technology.
• Adapt and differentiate instruction for all students.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of student progress.
• Develop and maintain positive communication with parents.
• Contribute to the campus community and support student mentoring.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and reflection.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Solid experience in musical creativity, analog/digital music technology, and instrumental performance (guitar, drums, keyboard).
• Proficient in contemporary recording and music production tools and techniques.
• Experience with at least two of the three industry-standard DAWs: ProTools, Logic, and Ableton Live.
• Experience with students with learning differences and ADHD is a plus.
