About the position

The Music Teacher position at Project 88 Music Academy is a long-term substitute role focused on teaching introductory music concepts to children in grades 1 and 2. The teacher will be responsible for lesson planning, providing instruction, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive learning environment. Responsibilities

• Develop lessons based on Project 88 Music Academy curriculum
• Acquire and use appropriate teaching materials and resources
• Teach music theory, aural skills, and practical techniques to students
• Create a culture of learning in the classroom that reflects Project 88's values
• Assist and motivate students to achieve their personal learning goals
• Diagnose areas of student misunderstanding and provide timely feedback
• Design and administer assessments to measure progress toward standards
• Keep accurate records of student progress
• Communicate with families regarding students' progress
• Participate in collaborative curriculum development and evaluative activities
• Reflect on successes and areas of growth as a teacher

Requirements

• Experience working with students
