About the position
The Music Teacher position involves instructing students in both band and choral ensembles at the middle and high school levels. The teacher will be responsible for arranging music to meet the needs of the ensembles and will hold at least one performance per semester outside of school hours to showcase student achievements in music to the community. The role also includes helping each child develop their musical potential and engaging students in lessons that adhere to the Massachusetts state standards for music. Additionally, the teacher will integrate music education into academic courses and perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students in both band and choral ensembles on the middle and high school levels
- Arrange music to fit the requirements of the ensembles
- Hold at least one performance per semester outside of school hours to showcase student achievement in music to the community
- Help each child develop his/her musical potential
- Engage students in music lessons that develop the principles of music adhering to the Massachusetts state standards for music
- Integrate music education into academic courses
- Other duties, as assigned
Requirements
- Appropriate Massachusetts Licensure Required
