About the position

The Music Teacher position at our well-established music educational center in Flushing, NY, involves providing engaging music lessons to students of all ages. The role is part-time and contract-based, focusing on teaching various instruments including piano, violin, guitar, drums, and vocals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for music education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Providing a well-structured music lesson that can engage students in continuous music learning
• Capable of providing music lessons that are able to keep and maintain students' interest level
• Engage and guide students with little or no background in music
• Maintain a positive relationship with both students and their parents

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Music or related field required OR experience and education background of similar level
• Possess professional music skill and at least one year of teaching experience in a professional or educational environment
• String, Drum and Vocal instructors are required to be able to teach beginner level piano
• Needs to be fully committed in providing quality education and stable availability

Nice-to-haves

• Familiar with exam preparations such as the NYSSMA and ABRSM
• Able to speak another language
• Familiar with different genres of music such as Jazz, Blues, Pop, etc.
