About the position

The Senior Network Engineer is a pivotal role within the Cyber Program, responsible for managing the network infrastructure and leading various initiatives related to planning, development, implementation, problem resolution, and administration of network systems. This position requires a deep understanding of network system policy and planning, including the formulation of policies and both short and long-term strategic planning. The Senior Network Engineer will make informed recommendations on proposed Network Systems Engineering based on a thorough analysis of existing capabilities and alternatives. Additionally, this role involves defining future focus areas by participating in the development of various roadmaps and technology strategies aimed at solving complex networking problems. The incumbent will have ongoing responsibilities related to the strategic goals, policy, and planning requirements for the division, ensuring that the network infrastructure aligns with organizational objectives. To be successful in this role, the Senior Network Engineer must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and meet the DoD 8570.01-M IAT II requirements. The position demands a minimum of 10 years of experience in configuring and operating cyber range or computer test bed environments. The candidate should have expert knowledge in designing and configuring computer networks, including routing, switching, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, and VLANs, utilizing both bare metal and virtualized systems. Experience in providing enterprise network engineering and support for campus area networks is essential, including the ability to create and plan policies and procedures. Familiarity with wireless infrastructure supporting 802.11x, 4G, and 3G technologies is also required, as is experience in configuring and managing Joint Information Operations Range (JIOR) nodes. The role requires strong communication skills, as the Senior Network Engineer must be capable of reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English fluently. A valid driver's license is necessary, along with the ability to maintain all required training and certifications. The position does not entail supervisory responsibilities, but it does require a Top Secret (TS) / Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Clearance throughout the contract's duration. The work environment is typically indoors, with normal business hours from 0800 to 1700, and may require travel within and outside the Continental United States (CONUS and OCONUS) to support various tasks and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the network of the Cyber Program.
  • Lead efforts concerning planning, development, implementation, problem resolution, and administration of network systems.
  • Serve as a network technical expert concerning network system policy and planning.
  • Develop policies and participate in short and long-range planning.
  • Make recommendations on proposed Network Systems Engineering based on existing capabilities and analysis of alternatives.
  • Define future focus by participating in the development of roadmaps and technology strategies.
  • Exercise continuing responsibility for assignments pertaining to strategic goals, policy, and planning requirements for the division.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT II requirements.
