About the position

Join National Heritage Academies (NHA) this summer as a Software Product Owner Intern! This is a paid internship. All internships will be in our Grand Rapids Service Center office. The duration of the internships are mid-May through mid-August. Internships are for those enrolled in a college or university program or a recent graduate. Please note that this internship will be fully onsite Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm at our Service Center located in Grand Rapids, MI. Responsibilities

  • Participate in product planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews/system demos, retrospectives, iteration planning, system demos, and other SAFe-related meetings
  • Ensure the software product team is working on the right features from the stakeholders' perspectives
  • Continuously prioritize the product backlog based on market changes, client feedback, and business priorities - coordinating dependencies with other product owners, as needed
  • Identify and document requirements as acceptance criteria for the development team
  • Review deliverable and demonstrable code after every iteration, and has the authority to accept or reject before delivering to the business partner
  • Assist business partners with documentation and training materials as needed
  • Assist with prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs

Requirements

  • Team-player looking to collaborate
  • Self-motivated and organized- capable of managing multiple tasks as delegated
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to establish relationships quickly
  • Clear communicator both written and verbally
  • Inquisitive and curious by nature, with the ability to ask clarifying questions and understand and translate needs
  • Familiarity or interest in custom software development a plus
