About the position

Convoso is seeking a MySQL Database expert to assess, design, deploy, and maintain complex databases, while also identifying potential improvements for future systems. This role is crucial in supporting the company's mission to revolutionize lead generation contact centers by ensuring high availability, stability, and scalability of database systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support the current MYSQL/InnoDB & Redis/KeyDB database, including the creation of new databases, migrations, backups, and replications.
  • Design, plan, and deploy database schemas.
  • Review existing databases and provide recommendations to enhance performance and scalability, including multi-site replication.
  • Ensure data is properly backed up and consistent.
  • Define customer needs and functionality in a service development cycle.
  • Communicate best practices and detailed information for database management, including capacity requirements.
  • Provide documentation for each database schema, relationships, performance bottlenecks, and data flows.
  • Assist in coordinating various teams for testing and evaluating design implementations, including database tools and software selection.
  • Ensure the highest level of database and systems availability, stability, and scalability.
  • Implement warranty and support activities.
  • Plan and implement system automation for better efficiency.
  • Oversee the development of customized software and hardware requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with security best practices and drive implementation accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure high-quality deliverables within organizational guidelines.
  • Run diagnostics to resolve customer-reported issues.
  • Optimize work processes and manage risks in projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience configuring and supporting MySQL/MariaDB database management and data modeling in Linux environments.
  • Solid database concepts and design knowledge (ACID, abstraction levels, schemas and constraints, stored procedures, replication, etc.).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in database performance analysis and improvements.
  • Good knowledge of storage, networking, and systems impacting database performance.
  • Experience in administration and performance tuning of database-related tools and environments.
  • Experience with monitoring systems like Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, etc.
  • Experience in planning, executing, and managing large-scale system deployments ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Skilled in system scripting and automation using tools such as Ansible, Chef, Terraform, etc.
  • Solid scripting skills (e.g., Python, Ruby, Bash, Perl, etc.).
  • Proven experience in configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux-based environments.
  • Strong work ethic and communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts and availability for overtime.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
