About the position

As a Machinist II on the 2nd shift at Schaeffler, you will play a crucial role in the production process by setting up, parametrizing, and operating CNC machines in accordance with work order requirements. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that production is completed within the required quality standards and timeframes. You will be tasked with defining the machining sequence or production work order, which involves assembling and preparing the necessary tools and equipment for the job. In addition to operating CNC machines, you will prepare, complete, and install tools and/or clamping devices, enter processing data, and simulate the production process to ensure efficiency. You will also be responsible for operating the production program related to the work order, checking results, and making necessary corrections to the program as needed. Monitoring and documenting the progress of work orders, including any problems encountered, machine time, and materials used, will be part of your duties. You may also oversee the activities of auxiliary personnel when required. Furthermore, you will carry out minor maintenance work on the machines or collaborate with maintenance teams to identify and resolve any failures that may arise during production.

  • Control and document work order progress, problems, machine time, materials used, and oversee activities of auxiliary personnel if required.
  • Carry out minor maintenance work or cooperate with maintenance to identify and resolve failures if required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and Machinist Journeyman certification.
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship.
