About the position

FGS, LLC is seeking a Senior-Level Systems Administrator with a focus on Linux to support the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) at the Suitland Federal Center in Maryland. This role requires extensive experience in enterprise-grade systems administration, particularly with Windows and Linux operating systems, and involves working in cloud computing environments. The position is critical for maintaining the operational status and security posture of production and development systems, contributing to unique mission requirements for the Intelligence Community.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain operational status and IA posture of production and development systems
  • Responsible for secure server baseline build and application deployment for Linux RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows systems
  • Create, deploy and manage virtual machines, templates, clones, and snapshots in vCenter
  • Configure and manage Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Authorization services
  • Provide Tier 3 support to on-site engineers for cloud-hosted services
  • Develop custom Linux and Windows scripts as necessary to improve functionality
  • Provide product architecture and configuration recommendations
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Develop and execute security test plans and pre-deployment test plans
  • Apply Windows and Linux patches, updates, and configuration changes as determined by ISSM
  • Patch, harden, and build quarterly Linux and Windows virtual machine images and update associated security documentation
  • Perform vulnerability scans using ACAS, Retina, WASSP, and SECSCN
  • Develop system design documents, requirements specifications, and drawings
  • Document and submit Weekly Activity Reports to the customer

Requirements

  • Current DoD Cyber Security Workforce Certification of IAT Level II or better
  • Heavily experienced with Linux GUI, command line, and IPTables
  • Experienced with DoD STIGS, Benchmarks, and associated security automation tools
  • Experienced with management of cloud-based services, storage, and compute
  • Familiar with new DoD RMF Process and older DIACAP process
  • Familiar with configuration and operation of PKI for user and web authentication

Nice-to-haves

  • Experienced in the Intelligence Community or Military environment preferred
  • Current Linux and/or Windows certifications preferred
  • Cisco certifications also preferred
  • Familiar with Remedy Incident Management software
  • Bachelor's degree - computer science/information systems preferred
