About the position

The Tax Accounting Manager for Accenture will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of income tax accounting and forecasting for the U.S. and Canadian entity operations. This role is critical in ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting of income tax accounts, and it involves collaboration with local finance and tax groups. The manager will serve as a U.S. GAAP ASC 740 tax accounting expert, providing support to regional tax experts and Country Controllers on income tax accounting issues. The position requires managing the timeliness and technical accuracy of quarterly effective tax rate and income tax cash payment forecasts, as well as the annual provision and provision to return true-up. In addition, the Tax Accounting Manager will ensure that all local tax accounting issues are properly analyzed, supported, and documented. This includes current and deferred tax, valuation allowance positions, unrecognized tax benefits, M&A transactions, and the impacts of pending legislation. The role also involves collaborating with a team of regional tax accounting experts to support quarterly reporting of income taxes and assisting with external financial audits and reviews of income taxes, including drafting the income tax footnote and other disclosures. The manager will advocate for compliance with Income Tax Accounting internal controls applicable at the local level and conduct local income tax accounting training as required for the tax and country controllership groups. Overall, this position plays a vital role in managing various global income tax accounting and reporting processes, ensuring that Accenture meets its financial and compliance obligations effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of income tax accounting and forecasting for US and Canadian entity operations.
  • Serve as U.S. GAAP ASC 740 tax accounting expert supporting regional tax experts and Country Controllers.
  • Ensure timeliness and technical accuracy of quarterly effective tax rate and income tax cash payment forecasts, annual provision, and provision to return true-up.
  • Analyze, support, and document local tax accounting issues including current and deferred tax, valuation allowance positions, and unrecognized tax benefits.
  • Collaborate with regional tax accounting experts to support quarterly reporting of income taxes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years of Tax and/or Financial Reporting experience with a US multinational company and/or public accounting firm.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience computing domestic and international tax provisions under the US Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP standard ASC 740, Accounting for Income Taxes
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent advanced degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Prior experience using OneSource Tax Provision and ERP software (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Experience in teaming with third party tax service providers
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
