About the position

The Sales Account Management Intern at Komatsu will engage in a comprehensive internship program designed to provide hands-on experience in the construction equipment sales process. This role will involve learning about various functions within the company, including equipment sales, parts and service, national accounts, and remarketing. The intern will have opportunities for personal and professional development, networking with executives, and gaining insights into the company's innovative technologies and sustainable practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of the construction equipment sales process by completing and presenting a professional proposal for improvement.
  • Gain exposure to equipment sales, including market segment analysis and potential time spent at a distributor to learn the retail sales process.
  • Receive education on the importance of parts and services related to customer satisfaction through impactful projects.
  • Learn to develop key account relationships and spread best practices across accounts in the National Accounts function.
  • Support the Remarketing staff in the certification process of used machines.

Requirements

  • Must be at least in Junior standing at an accredited college/university.
  • Ability to apply academic background to real business experiences.
  • Prior experience with work study programs, leadership roles, or participation in teams or clubs is preferred.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility and maturity to interact effectively with customers and executives at all levels.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong motivation to contribute to Komatsu and drive results.
  • Interest in capital goods/heavy equipment in the construction and mining industry.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; SQL, 'R', and visualization tools proficiency is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
