About the position

The Named Account Manager for SLED at Proofpoint is responsible for managing existing clients and driving new customer acquisition within the State, Local, and Education (SLED) sector. This role involves establishing Proofpoint as a trusted IT security advisor, managing all aspects of assigned accounts, and collaborating with decision-makers to enhance solution adoption. The position requires a proactive approach to sales and relationship management, contributing to the company's growth in the cybersecurity market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage existing clients in the mid-market space of SLED and drive sales efforts for new customer acquisition.
  • Meet or exceed annual sales quotas for new revenue and existing bookings as defined by management.
  • Provide accurate quarterly forecasting and maintain proper CRM hygiene.
  • Grow relationships with decision-makers and influencers to enhance solution adoption.
  • Develop, strategize, and execute marketing/channel plans within the region for end users, channel partners, and industry events.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Public Sector processes, including contract requirements and purchasing workflows.

Requirements

  • Experience selling to and managing Public Sector clients with a track record of success.
  • Strong existing network of clients, channel partners, and industry professionals in the region.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Cyber Security and/or software IT industry.
  • Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues.
