About the position

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable nanny/caregiver to provide care and support to our elementary-aged child. The role involves assisting with homeschooling, daily activities, and fostering a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, and will be able to adapt to the child's individual learning style. This position offers the potential for additional responsibilities and pay increase if a second child joins the household.

Responsibilities

• Assist with homeschooling, including helping with assignments, reading, and reinforcing academic concepts.
• Support the child's individual learning style and ensure that educational goals are met.
• Provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for the child during the day.
• Help with daily routines, including meal preparation, light housework, and maintaining a tidy play and study area.
• Monitor and manage the child's social and emotional needs, promoting positive behaviors and reinforcing good habits.
• Foster a love for learning through creative, hands-on activities and projects.
• Communicate regularly with parents about the child's progress, challenges, and needs.
• Potentially care for a second child in the future, with an increase in pay and additional responsibilities.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a nanny, caregiver, or similar role.
• Understanding of or desire to learn homeschooling or educational support for elementary-aged children.
• Experience with children who have special needs, particularly in implementing ABA therapy techniques, is preferred.
• Patience, creativity, and the ability to engage children in educational and recreational activities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to the child's needs and work collaboratively with parents.
• Reliable transportation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with children with special needs and familiarity with ABA therapy techniques.
• CPR Certification.
