About the position

The Neuro Nanny position offers a unique opportunity to support neurodivergent children by providing compassionate care and personalized attention. This role is designed for individuals passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children with special needs, helping them develop essential life skills and participate in therapeutic activities. The position allows for flexible scheduling, making it suitable for both part-time and full-time candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to neurodivergent children in their home or community settings.
  • Work alongside parents and other professionals to implement strategies from speech therapy, occupational therapy, and other therapeutic interventions.
  • Help children develop essential life skills, including communication, emotional regulation, self-care, and socialization.
  • Engage children with activities that stimulate learning and play, tailored to each child's unique strengths and challenges.
  • Keep track of the child's development and communicate regularly with families to share updates and discuss any concerns or successes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with the neurodivergent population (e.g., as a former RBT, special education teacher, special needs caregiver, or therapist).
  • At least 18 years of age or older.
  • A minimum of 3 childcare references that are not friends or family.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license for at least 2 years, and access to reliable transportation.
  • CPR certified or willing to obtain certification before placement.
  • A passion for working with children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a supportive, fun, and engaging environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with children on the autism spectrum or with other neurodivergent conditions is preferred but not required.
  • Open-mindedness, understanding, and willingness to learn.
