About the position

The Senior Engineer (Chassis/Trim/Body) at Hyundai Motor Group North American Quality Center (NAQC) is responsible for enhancing product quality and customer satisfaction for current vehicles. This role involves investigating chassis quality issues, conducting field investigations, analyzing data, and benchmarking competitive vehicle designs. The ideal candidate will also mentor junior engineers and manage project schedules while ensuring compliance with quality assurance principles.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and support the testing of chassis quality issues in Hyundai, Genesis, or Kia vehicles.
  • Conduct field or on-site investigations to collect subjective and objective data.
  • Analyze data to diagnose root causes and validate improvements.
  • Benchmark competitive vehicle designs and diagnostic procedures.
  • Study external indices and customer feedback to identify market trends.
  • Research and maintain new technologies and tools for data acquisition and analysis.
  • Manage schedules and coordinate with outsourced companies to meet deliverables.
  • Assist vendors and address issues to maintain project schedules.
  • Create and present technical reports as assigned.
  • Mentor junior engineers on best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in QA/QC, Quality Improvement, or Vehicle Quality Investigation & Root Cause Analysis.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years experience in automotive engineering, with a strong preference for Chassis/Trim/Body experience.
  • Familiarity with vehicle instrumentation and data acquisition tools (such as LMS, Vector CANalyzer, etc).
