About the position

The Narrative Content Editor at Cornerstone onDemand plays a pivotal role in shaping engaging narrative content for the Immerse team. This position is centered around ensuring that storytelling is relatable and compelling across all content formats. The editor will oversee interactive writing, story structure, and gamification elements that stem from dialogue-based gameplay. The role requires a blend of editorial practices, writing skills, and the ability to leverage generative AI, all while maintaining direct interaction with customers to enhance their experience. In this capacity, the Narrative Content Editor will act as the primary editor for all learning narrative content, ensuring that it meets high-quality standards and adheres to established narrative best practices. The editor will supervise writing for story-driven projects, providing constructive guidance and feedback to writers. It is essential that the narrative design aligns with Cornerstone Immerse's design philosophies and the overarching goals of XR-for-enterprise. The editor will also encourage innovation among writers, fostering the creation of learning experiences that explore new ways to utilize the tool effectively. Additionally, the role involves managing freelance writers, narrative designers, and vendors, showcasing strong project management skills to maintain project schedules, manage narrative-related invoicing, and develop strategies for risk mitigation. The Narrative Content Editor will be responsible for identifying and managing external staffing needs for writing production, ensuring that all narrative content is produced efficiently and effectively. The editor will craft compelling interactive stories and dialogues, implementing these elements within the platform. Collaboration with customers is key to resolving narrative and creative issues, and the editor will develop prompts to enhance the quality of AI-generated content. Documenting the Immerse team's narrative design principles and best practices is also a critical aspect of this role, along with providing training for users of the Immerse Creator Tool. A significant part of the position involves exploring and maturing generative AI practices to broaden use cases while ensuring that high-quality learning outcomes are achieved. The editor will utilize generative AI tools to enhance content ideation and script writing, design prompts for AI to generate accurate and creative outputs, and use AI tools for dialogue generation, content expansion, and rapid prototyping. Close collaboration with the learning team, production team, and product team is essential to ensure that narrative design supports skill development and meets quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as editor for all learning narrative content, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to narrative best practices.
• Supervise writing for story-driven projects, providing guidance and feedback to writers.
• Ensure that narrative design is consistent with Cornerstone Immerse's design philosophies and XR-for-enterprise goals.
• Encourage and support writers to innovate and create learning experiences which explore new ways to utilize the tool.
• Manage freelance writers, narrative designers, and vendors.
• Exhibit strong project management skills: maintain project schedules, manage narrative-related invoicing, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Identify and manage external staffing needs for writing production.
• Craft compelling interactive stories and dialogues.
• Implement interactive story structure and dialogue in-platform.
• Collaborate with customers to resolve narrative and creative issues.
• Develop prompts to enhance AI-generated content quality.
• Document the Immerse team's narrative design principles and best practices.
• Provide training for Immerse Creator Tool users.
• Help mature generative AI practices and productization efforts to broaden use cases while ensuring high quality learning outcomes are reached.

• Work closely with the learning team to ensure narrative design supports skill development and knowledge acquisition.

• Work with the product team as they develop tools that support interactive writing within the platform.

Requirements

• Proficiency in narrative design and interactive storytelling, especially in VR, AR, or web-based platforms.
• Strong grasp of narrative structure, dialogue-based gameplay, and gamification.
• Skilled in no-code authoring tools, narrative design software, and branched dialogue.
• High interest in using generative AI as part of creative and narrative workflows.
• Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.
• Project management skills, including resource forecasting and timeline management.
• Strong communication and collaboration capabilities.
• Knowledge of soft skills development and educational technology trends.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools and prompt engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, Narrative Design, Instructional Design, or equivalent experience.
