About the position

The Narrative Content Editor at Cornerstone onDemand plays a pivotal role in shaping engaging narrative content for the Immerse team. This position is centered around ensuring that storytelling is relatable and impactful across all content formats. The editor will oversee the interactive writing process, focusing on story structure and gamification that stems from dialogue-based gameplay. The role requires a blend of editorial practices, writing skills, and the ability to leverage generative AI, all while maintaining direct interactions with customers to ensure their needs are met. In this capacity, the Narrative Content Editor will be responsible for content oversight, acting as the editor for all learning narrative content. This includes ensuring that high-quality standards are met and that all narrative content adheres to best practices. The editor will supervise writing for story-driven projects, providing constructive feedback and guidance to writers. It is essential that the narrative design aligns with Cornerstone Immerse's design philosophies and the overarching goals of XR-for-enterprise. The editor will also encourage innovation among writers, fostering the creation of learning experiences that explore new ways to utilize the tool effectively. The role also encompasses team oversight, where the editor will manage freelance writers, narrative designers, and vendors. Strong project management skills are crucial, as the editor will maintain project schedules, manage narrative-related invoicing, and develop strategies for risk mitigation. Identifying and managing external staffing needs for writing production will also be part of the responsibilities. In terms of narrative design and documentation, the editor will craft compelling interactive stories and dialogues, implement story structures and dialogues within the platform, and collaborate with customers to resolve any narrative or creative issues. Additionally, the editor will develop prompts to enhance the quality of AI-generated content and document the Immerse team's narrative design principles and best practices. Training for users of the Immerse Creator Tool will also be a key responsibility. The role will involve exploring generative AI practices to enhance content ideation and script writing, designing prompts for AI to generate accurate and creative outputs, and utilizing AI tools for dialogue generation and rapid prototyping. Collaboration is a significant aspect of this role, as the editor will work closely with the learning team to ensure that narrative design supports skill development, and with the production team to meet deliverable timing and quality standards. Support and guidance will also be provided to customers creating learning modules, and collaboration with the product team will be necessary as they develop tools that facilitate interactive writing within the platform.

Responsibilities

• Act as editor for all learning narrative content, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to narrative best practices.
• Supervise writing for story-driven projects, providing guidance and feedback to writers.
• Ensure that narrative design is consistent with Cornerstone Immerse's design philosophies and XR-for-enterprise goals.
• Encourage and support writers to innovate and create learning experiences which explore new ways to utilize the tool.
• Manage freelance writers, narrative designers, and vendors.
• Exhibit strong project management skills: maintain project schedules, manage narrative-related invoicing, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Identify and manage external staffing needs for writing production.

Requirements

• Proficiency in narrative design and interactive storytelling, especially in VR, AR, or web-based platforms.
• Strong grasp of narrative structure, dialogue-based gameplay, and gamification.
• Skilled in no-code authoring tools, narrative design software, and branched dialogue.
• High interest in using generative AI as part of creative and narrative workflows.
• Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.
• Project management skills, including resource forecasting and timeline management.
• Strong communication and collaboration capabilities.
• Knowledge of soft skills development and educational technology trends.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools and prompt engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, Narrative Design, Instructional Design, or equivalent experience.
