About the position

The Narrative Content Editor plays a pivotal role in shaping the storytelling landscape for Cornerstone's Immerse team. This position is dedicated to ensuring that all narrative content is not only compelling but also aligns with the best practices of narrative design. The editor will oversee the interactive writing process, focusing on story structure and the gamification aspects that stem from dialogue-based gameplay. This role is not just about editorial oversight; it also involves a hands-on approach to writing, utilizing generative AI to enhance customer use cases, and engaging directly with customers to refine and improve narrative content. In this capacity, the Narrative Content Editor will act as the primary editor for all learning narrative content, ensuring that it meets high-quality standards and adheres to established narrative best practices. The editor will supervise writing for story-driven projects, providing essential guidance and feedback to writers to foster innovation and creativity. It is crucial that the narrative design remains consistent with Cornerstone Immerse's design philosophies and the overarching goals of XR-for-enterprise. The editor will encourage writers to explore new avenues for utilizing the tool, thereby enhancing the learning experience. The role also encompasses team oversight, where the editor will manage freelance writers, narrative designers, and vendors. Strong project management skills are essential, as the editor will maintain project schedules, manage narrative-related invoicing, and develop strategies for risk mitigation. Identifying and managing external staffing needs for writing production will also be a key responsibility. In terms of narrative design and documentation, the editor will craft engaging interactive stories and dialogues, implementing these elements within the platform. Collaboration with customers to resolve narrative and creative issues is vital, as is the development of prompts to enhance the quality of AI-generated content. The editor will document the Immerse team's narrative design principles and best practices, providing training for users of the Immerse Creator Tool. Additionally, the editor will play a significant role in exploring AI, helping to mature generative AI practices and productization efforts to broaden use cases while ensuring that high-quality learning outcomes are achieved. This includes utilizing generative AI tools for content ideation and script writing, designing prompts for AI to generate accurate and creative outputs, and using AI tools for dialogue generation and rapid prototyping. Collaboration is a cornerstone of this role, as the editor will work closely with the Learning team to ensure that narrative design supports skill development and knowledge acquisition. Coordination with the Production team is essential to meet deliverable timing and quality standards, and the editor will provide support and guidance for customers creating learning modules. Furthermore, collaboration with the Product team will be necessary as they develop tools that facilitate interactive writing within the platform.

Responsibilities

• Act as editor for all learning narrative content, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to narrative best practices.
• Supervise writing for story-driven projects, providing guidance and feedback to writers.
• Ensure that narrative design is consistent with Cornerstone Immerse's design philosophies and XR-for-enterprise goals.
• Encourage and support writers to innovate and create learning experiences which explore new ways to utilize the tool.
• Manage freelance writers, narrative designers, and vendors.
• Exhibit strong project management skills: maintain project schedules, manage narrative-related invoicing, and develop risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Proficiency in narrative design and interactive storytelling, especially in VR, AR, or web-based platforms.
• Strong grasp of narrative structure, dialogue-based gameplay, and gamification.
• Skilled in no-code authoring tools, narrative design software, and branched dialogue.
• High interest in using generative AI as part of creative and narrative workflows.
• Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.
• Project management skills, including resource forecasting and timeline management.
• Strong communication and collaboration capabilities.
• Knowledge of soft skills development and educational technology trends.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools and prompt engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, Narrative Design, Instructional Design, or equivalent experience.
