About the position

Hachette Book Group is seeking a National Account Manager for Children's Sales, responsible for selling titles to major accounts such as Walmart and Costco. The role requires a customer-centric mindset, strong communication skills, and a proven track record in account management. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset, attention to detail, and strong presentation skills, working in a hybrid model with two days in the office each week.

Responsibilities

  • Maximizing sales growth on frontlist and backlist titles throughout the year
  • Preparing and presenting all titles to the accounts on a regular basis
  • Maintaining item set-up forms and using the vendor portal for data uploads in preparation for sell-in appointments
  • Communicating with the wider sales team and Publishing regarding account activity and strategy and reorders
  • Representing the account at all internal meetings including Launch, Strategy, Sales conference, and sales and marketing meetings
  • Running weekly and monthly sales reports, including point of sale, sell-in recaps, market share updates, and seasonal promotions

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in an account management role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience with public speaking preferred
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to work well under pressure, and meet strict deadlines
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
