About the position

The National Account Manager for Dollar General will lead sales efforts for a strategic business unit focused on driving profitable sales growth for both J.M. Smucker and Dollar General. This remote position, based in Nashville, TN, involves building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, developing strategies for brand growth, and managing business execution and analysis to meet sales and profit goals.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships within Dollar General.
  • Develop strategies to drive brand/category growth and achieve or exceed sales/profit goals.
  • Lead negotiation for joint business planning, new items, and key initiatives.
  • Influence key stakeholders to implement solutions through fact-based presentations.
  • Support and partner with the Supply Chain team to drive solutions across Dollar General.
  • Manage execution of everyday business, including item setup, online content, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Work with the sales support team to implement retail priorities and monitor retail standards.
  • Own the annual business plan and perform in-depth analysis of sales and profit components.
  • Manage internal sales systems and effectively manage trade budget and distribution.
  • Forecast monthly and quarterly sales and communicate internally for production planning.
  • Drive business process improvements by working closely with cross-functional business partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of CPG sales experience with direct national account HQ management experience.
  • Proven leader in negotiation success.
  • Strong technical skills using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Joint Business Planning experience.
  • Previous experience calling on Dollar General.
  • Proficient in use of syndicated data sources (Circana, 1010 Data).
