About the position

The National Account Manager for Trade Sales at Macmillan Learning is responsible for overseeing all sales activities related to the St. Martin's Publishing Group and Macmillan Audio to Barnes & Noble. This role involves not only active sales but also collaboration with various departments to effectively position titles in the market. The manager will focus on maximizing sales, identifying new revenue opportunities, and maintaining strong business relationships to drive profitability and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize sales of new and backlist titles with established accounts.
  • Identify opportunities for new revenue.
  • Maintain strong business relationships at all levels to encourage profitability, mutual sales growth and efficiency both with B&N and the publishers.
  • Planning and forecasting sales of key titles including exclusive and signed editions.
  • Partner with the publishing imprints on re-purposing content, book packaging and marketing, positioning and timing of their titles.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of sales or comparable experience required.
  • 3-5 years experience in book publishing sales environment preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic and methodical sales approach.
  • Proven persuasion, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Focused and driven for results; goal oriented.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with meticulous follow through.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Desire to succeed in a sales environment.

Benefits

  • Annual salary of $70,000 - $85,000
