About the position

The National Account Manager at SpartanNash is responsible for maintaining and enhancing relationships with key growth accounts while cultivating new business opportunities. This role involves providing effective solutions, guidance, and strategies to ensure the success of the company's business. The position requires regular audits and analysis of retailer operations to develop plans for improved performance, all while working in a hybrid environment at the corporate headquarters in Byron Center, MI.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between the company and key national accounts, developing strong customer relationships.
  • Engage with customers to identify needs and provide integrated solutions.
  • Measure the success of business-building initiatives and identify opportunity gaps.
  • Provide management with updates on key account sales and present new ideas to increase sales.
  • Identify gaps in current processes and collaborate with teams to implement new processes.
  • Work with field retail leadership to understand trends and implement solutions.
  • Partner with procurement teams to analyze inventory trends and ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Communicate customer needs to all business units involved and respond to inquiries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of combined experience in sales and account management.
  • Excellent prioritization and self-motivation skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas persuasively.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of products, services, and industry trends.
  • Ability to understand customer actions and needs, providing emotional support when necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves
