About the position

The National Account Manager at Shoppas Material Handling Ltd is responsible for transforming the company's relationship with National Accounts from a supplier of Toyota Forklifts to a comprehensive Materials Handling Solutions partner. This role emphasizes managing customer relationships, understanding their unique challenges, and providing tailored solutions. The position involves both account management and new business development, requiring a strong background in capital equipment sales and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote the company and all products and services
• Manage existing accounts while hunting for new accounts
• Coordinate with department managers to ensure a smooth customer experience
• Provide surveys, demos, local support, and consultative advice to customers
• Prospect for new customers through various channels including telephone, face-to-face, email, and networking
• Cold call on prospective customers and follow up on referrals
• Prepare new equipment proposals and ensure specs and pricing are correct
• Verify customer credit with the credit department
• Confirm availability of stock and communicate discounts and incentives
• Identify emerging markets and market shifts
• Create customized presentation packages for clients
• Deliver to sales quotas and goals to drive company sales forward
• Participate in supplier meetings for opportunities assessment and project evaluation
• Effectively cover the territories on a daily basis
• Perform other special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Minimum five years of outside capital sales experience within an industrial or commercial environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficient in MS Office including experience with SAP, ACT, and MS Navision
