About the position

The National Account Sales Manager will lead the development of strategic planning at the account level for an international food manufacturer, focusing on volume, profit, and market share growth. This role involves managing customer relationships, implementing brand strategies, and conducting business reviews to drive sales in major convenience stores and gas stations across the United States. The position allows for full remote work, with occasional travel required for client meetings and trade shows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of planning at the account level, focusing on total volume, profit, and share growth.
  • Manage the plan to meet volume, profit, and share goals.
  • Implement brand strategies with customers by working with decision makers and partners.
  • Develop annual customer plans and gain agreement on growth opportunities.
  • Develop trade promotion strategies and tactical plans with customers.
  • Monitor the customer's overall business plan, managing trade budgets and spending to achieve sales goals.
  • Conduct post-event analysis to evaluate promotional results and maximize future opportunities.
  • Establish regular connections with buyers to discuss consumer trends and business drivers.
  • Use category management practices to link consumer trends to sell-in new items and grow distribution.
  • Travel nationally to call on brokers and retail establishments, approximately once a month for 3-5 days.
  • Build strong business rapport with key personnel of targeted customers.
  • Attend trade shows and marketing events to promote sales.
  • Collaborate with marketing, logistics, and sales departments to increase sales volume.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in the food or beverage industry, particularly in retail or convenience sectors.
  • Experience negotiating with buyers or brokers of convenience chains.
  • Demonstrated sales planning, forecasting, and execution experience.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint presentation software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industry.
  • Familiarity with category management practices.
