About the position

The National Account Strategic Executive at Elevance Health is responsible for developing retention strategies for large, complex clients, specifically managing a jumbo dedicated client with over 100,000 members. This role involves building relationships with executive-level decision-makers, creating multi-year strategic plans, and facilitating the growth of specialty business within existing accounts. The executive will lead the annual renewal process, manage RFP responses, and ensure smooth account service operations while advising senior leadership on client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Build deep relationships and influence executive level decision makers within the client organization.
  • Develop multi-year strategic plans in partnership with clients to achieve retention and growth.
  • Facilitate the growth of specialty business within existing accounts.
  • Lead strategy for RFP responses, proposals, client presentations, and underwriting coordination on sales or retention opportunities.
  • Manage the annual renewal process for accounts, including underwriting collaboration and preparation of renewal analysis.
  • Work directly with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth account service operations.
  • Advise senior executive leadership on client relationships.
  • Apply practical and innovative solutions for clients, including opportunities for penetration sales.
  • Interpret financial data and reporting to develop business strategies for Elevance Health and clients.
  • Lead project initiatives that may impact clients.
  • Work with stakeholders to create custom solutions for sophisticated client needs.
  • Train and mentor lower level staff to drive positive culture change and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree and a minimum of 9 years of experience in account management or sales, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Sales license required to be obtained and appointed within 60 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with groups greater than 25,000.
  • Extensive health plans and/or health benefits account management experience for National/Jumbo accounts.
  • Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive level stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, MS Teams, and Salesforce.
