About the position

The National Cataract Equipment Sales Manager will lead the capital equipment sales execution for Johnson & Johnson's cataract equipment in the US. This remote position requires close proximity to a major airport and involves managing a team, developing sales strategies, and maintaining key customer relationships to drive business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals for capital equipment, consumables, and accessories.
  • Hire, develop, and maintain top talent on the Cataract Equipment Team.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to direct reports to drive positive sales results and prepare them for future roles.
  • Communicate positively and transparently to support the organization's strategy and objectives.
  • Participate in sales field rides, target planning, territory alignment, and KOL engagement.
  • Establish and manage operational standards for accuracy and accountability to management metrics.
  • Work closely with division and regional counterparts to foster teamwork and cooperation within field selling teams.
  • Support customer relationships and demonstrate leadership presence to address key customer inquiries.
  • Uphold a culture of compliance, diversity, and accountability while championing the J&J Credo.
  • Review complex data sets to uncover opportunities within the US cataract market.
  • Develop strategic and tactical plans to maximize cataract equipment sales.
  • Engage with industry KOLs and customers to gather intelligence and elevate the JJV brand.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Life Sciences.
  • Minimum of 6 years of medical sales experience, with 3 years in sales leadership preferred.
  • Proficiency in adaptability, teamwork, initiative, innovation, integrity, analytical skills, leadership, strategic thinking, and communication.
  • Proven track record in medical, surgical, and/or capital equipment sales.
  • Capital equipment marketing experience preferred.
  • Ophthalmology medical device experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and experience with Salesforce optimization preferred.
  • Up to 60% domestic business travel may be required.

  • Experience in MedTech capital equipment sales and strategy.
  • Strong relationship development and negotiation skills.
