About the position

The National Category Sales Manager for SS Herdez & La Victoria at Hormel Foods Corporation is responsible for developing and executing the overall business plan to achieve volume and net sales goals for the assigned portfolio. This role involves championing the assigned categories and brands nationally, managing trade resources, and collaborating with various teams to drive profitable growth and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the overall business plan to achieve volume and net sales goals for the assigned portfolio.
  • Champion the assigned categories and brands on a national basis across all channels and customers.
  • Build and allocate volume objectives and trade budgets for the brands on a macro level and down to each customer.
  • Support General Manager Customer Business Planning for the brands responsible.
  • Lead the strategic planning process by collaborating with marketing to develop brand executional strategies.
  • Manage brand trade resources and investments to drive profitable growth.
  • Manage the strategic planning process between the Retail sales organization including field directors and managers.
  • Partner with sales to ensure alignment of brand and customer strategy through active participation in customer negotiations.
  • Provide forecasts on volume, trade, and gross margin for respective brands.
  • Create field-ready insights-driven sales solutions that can be leveraged by field teams.
  • Develop monthly to 18-month rolling volume forecasts and annual trade forecasts for demand planning.
  • Oversee talent and career development of direct and indirect reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of sales/marketing/sales strategy experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
