About the position

The National Contractor Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies aimed at driving revenue growth within the contractor segment. This role involves managing a team of sales professionals, building relationships with key clients, and ensuring that sales targets are met across various regions. The position requires strong leadership, negotiation skills, and the ability to analyze market trends to enhance sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies tailored to the contractor market to achieve business objectives.
  • Supervise and motivate the nationwide sales team to meet or exceed sales targets, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements with large contractors to secure profitable business deals.
  • Analyze performance metrics, prepare sales forecasts, and suggest improvements based on data-driven insights.
  • Conduct research to identify new potential customers and market opportunities within the contractor industry.
  • Work closely with marketing and product development teams to ensure alignment in branding and product offerings.
  • Train and develop the sales team to enhance their skills and effectiveness in selling to contractors.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a National Sales Manager or in a similar role, particularly within the construction or contractor sectors.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is typically required.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to work with national agent representative network.
  • Experience effectively promoting complex lighting and controls solutions with key decision makers.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the time for client meetings and industry events.
