About the position

The National Field Development Manager, Sales at Madrigal is a leadership role focused on driving sales strategies and execution across open territories in the U.S. This position requires a candidate with a strong background in specialty pharmaceutical sales, exceptional business acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The role involves strategic planning, data analysis, and training initiatives to enhance the sales team's performance while aligning with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Coverage of any open territories or regions across the US.
  • Recognize local market trends and propose innovative plans to enhance launch execution and business strategies.
  • Work closely with Sales Operations to gather and share data insights about market trends and access challenges.
  • Assist in strategic business planning and assess leading indicators to develop contingency plans.
  • Ensure alignment with data insights and organizational goals.
  • Support training initiatives to enhance the clinical and business acumen of the sales team.
  • Spearhead collaboration with internal teams to achieve cross-functional goals.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner with marketing, market access, patient services, and HR teams.
  • Update and communicate payer landscape status to the field team.
  • Align sales strategies with market access strategies to meet payer policies and objectives.
  • Organize and execute ongoing strategic projects and meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, life sciences, etc.) required.
  • Previous experience as a specialty pharmaceutical sales representative with a high performance track record required.
  • Previous experience as a manager of sales professionals preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 35% for coverage, meetings, and training initiatives.
  • Demonstrated readiness for leadership roles with essential management attributes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and insights generation.
  • Proven track record of specialty sales success and strong business acumen.
  • Analytics capabilities to interpret complex data sets and communicate actionable insights.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially in PowerPoint and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience in the gastrointestinal (GI) specialty pharmaceutical sector.
  • Preferred completion of prior leadership development assessment and program.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary between $175,000-$215,000.
