About the position

The National Manager, Fluid Connector Sales is responsible for leading a national team of Fluid Connector Specialists and team managers to maintain and increase sales volume with existing and new accounts in the industrial and distribution channels. This role is pivotal in guiding the sales team to achieve key sales performance objectives through a consultative sales process. The National Manager will also develop operational processes and models to support the fluid connector product offering and growth plans. This position involves business financial planning, problem-solving, and process development in alignment with MSC's Corporate Fluid Connector Strategy and the Customer First plan. Collaboration with various teams, including Sales, Product, Training, Marketing, Customer Care, Suppliers, and Human Resources, is essential to support execution and drive success. The responsibilities include securing and maintaining distribution agreements for fluid connector products, managing the financial plan for fluid connectors, coaching and mentoring the sales team, and collaborating with MSC sales associates to provide innovative solutions to customers. The National Manager will also develop training programs, assess sales trends, document communications with clients, and create targeted strategies to deploy the sales team effectively. This role requires a high level of energy and positivity, as well as the ability to lead and manage the sales process using established CRM best practices. The National Manager will also be involved in recruiting and hiring sales professionals and managers, ensuring the development of the team, and fostering a culture of growth and collaboration within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a national team of Fluid Connector Specialists and team managers to maintain and increase sales volume.
  • Guide the sales team to achieve key sales performance objectives through a consultative sales process.
  • Develop operational processes and models to support fluid connector product offerings and growth plans.
  • Oversee the financial plan for fluid connectors, including sales goals and operational expenses.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop the sales team to ensure their success while enforcing company policies.
  • Collaborate with MSC sales associates to provide innovative fluid connector products and MRO supplies.
  • Provide support and expertise to the National Account Sales Group regarding fluid connector product needs.
  • Partner with the category team to develop the fluid connector program continuously.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, including Parker.
  • Develop training and development programs for FCS team members and managers.
  • Assess sales trends and coordinate action plans to penetrate the market.
  • Document communications with prospects and clients and manage the sales pipeline.
  • Participate in local networking groups and associations.
  • Create targeted strategies to deploy the sales team effectively.
  • Support negotiation and financial modeling with senior customer contacts.
  • Lead and manage the sales process using established CRM best practices.
  • Conduct sales contests and promote a positive company culture.
  • Prepare and submit reports related to sales, personnel, and account activity.
  • Attend product knowledge sessions and maintain expert knowledge of Parker products.
  • Develop sales strategies for assigned accounts and work with cross-division teams to supply customers with products.
  • Motivate and provide sales direction to the Fluid Connector Specialists.
  • Participate in hiring, termination, review, and development of associates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, or related field is required.
  • At least 7 years of proven, successful experience in Technical, strategy planning, and B2B sales.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing a B2B sales team.
  • Preferred knowledge and experience with fluid connector product line.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Solid financial acumen.
  • Excellent change management skills.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Personable, outgoing, and confident demeanor.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and results-driven attitude.
