About the position

This position leads the overall production and distribution team for The Bay Family of Companies' Metal Building Insulation divisions. The role acts as a liaison between MBI Divisions, MBI Sales, and the corporate team to ensure efficient operations, high-quality performance, and a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage divisions with a safety-first focus and a preventative mindset.
  • Directly manage the Regional Operations Managers team and support areas.
  • Provide leadership and direction for day-to-day functions at the MBI plant divisions.
  • Facilitate safety, quality, and production improvements.
  • Determine operational metrics/standards and lead efforts for divisions to achieve these.
  • Develop and mentor direct reports.
  • Review performance of divisions with reports to address issues and recognize outstanding performance.
  • Partner with corporate office management as needed.
  • Determine manufacturing, warehouse, and delivery best practices.
  • Monitor training, development, and succession plans.
  • Participate in strategic and capital improvement planning for plants.
  • Travel to plants to assist with management functions, including vacations, hiring and training managers, performing safety and inventory audits, and investigating building leases.
  • Direct office/warehouse moves and updates as needed.
  • Work across locations to standardize operations and optimize best practices.
  • Collaborate with the sales force to solve customer complaints and concerns.
  • Report plant performance data and information back to the divisions on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Direct operations from long distances when required.
  • Perform all other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements

  • 10 years of managerial experience with multi-location manufacturing/distribution environments, preferred.
  • Degree in Business, Logistics, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent leadership skills to develop, mentor, motivate, empower, and hold others accountable.
  • Strong passion for safety.
  • Ability to develop, focus on, and execute strategic plans.
  • Ability to use abstract thinking to drive improvements and problem solve.
  • Ability to listen and respond to others using good judgement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Solid computer skills in Word, Excel, and other software.
  • Ability to travel to U.S. and Canada locations as required.
