About the position

As a National Purchasing Manager at Public Storage, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and leading strategic initiatives within the organization. You will develop strategic plans to reduce costs while ensuring the timely sourcing of services and goods, which is crucial for the operational success of our facilities. In this role, you will manage and issue Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Requests for Quotations (RFQs), ensuring adherence to scope of work requirements. Acting as a liaison between field operations and centralized purchasing, you will ensure cohesive strategies are implemented across the board. Your interaction with vendors will be key, as you will manage large contracts and ensure accountability to Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will also be responsible for developing and managing vendor scorecards, monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with specific metrics to assess vendor performance. Negotiation will be a critical aspect of your role, as you will negotiate SLAs for both new and existing contracts to ensure optimal terms. Additionally, you will source building products, materials, and services necessary for field operations, utilizing data to drive informed decisions and present findings to senior and executive leaders. This position offers a competitive Total Compensation Pay Range of $150,000 - $185,000, tailored based on qualifications, skills, and experience, which includes a combination of base salary, bonus, and equity awards.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a national purchasing program to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
  • Develop strategic plans to reduce costs and ensure timely sourcing of services and goods.
  • Manage and issue RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs adhering to scope of work requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or relevant work experience.
  • 7+ years of proven experience in purchasing, preferably in a managerial role within the Real Estate/Construction sector.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
