About the position

The National Account Manager is responsible for building a portfolio of new clients by identifying and closing business opportunities in targeted markets. This role requires expertise in lead generation, prospecting, and developing relationships with potential customers, focusing on organizations that have not yet engaged with the company. The individual must excel in cold outreach, delivering persuasive sales presentations, and negotiating deals while consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets. Collaboration with internal teams is essential to ensure seamless client onboarding and long-term success.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and referrals.
  • Engage in cold calling, emailing, and social selling to reach potential clients.
  • Utilize CRM software to track leads and monitor the sales pipeline.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with decision-makers.
  • Uncover client pain points and tailor solutions to meet their needs.
  • Attend industry events and networking opportunities to connect with potential clients.
  • Conduct product or service demos and presentations to showcase value propositions.
  • Personalize pitches to address specific client pain points.
  • Negotiate contract terms and pricing with clients to close sales.
  • Ensure all agreements are completed accurately and follow up to maintain communication.
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to management.
  • Collaborate with marketing, customer success, and product teams for onboarding and customer experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strategic selling skills and business planning.
  • Ability to quickly gain credibility and respect with internal/external customers.
  • History of success maintaining & developing key relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and creative skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Intermediate ability to create and/or update spreadsheets and other documents.
  • Expert customer service skills, over the phone and in person.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience within complex selling environments.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient user of Dynamics or related CRM.
  • Independent initiator with strong self-management skills.
