About the position

At Travel + Leisure Co., our mission is to put the world on vacation. We are looking for a National Sales and Partnerships Manager who will play a pivotal role in managing our national sales team and driving sales for our innovative sports event management software. This position is crucial for the day-to-day leadership of the sales team, focusing on pipeline management, prospecting, and generating sales for our sports event management solution, Playbook365, as well as our event housing technology, GPS. In this role, you will directly manage the national sales team, overseeing daily activities such as deal qualification, discovery, platform demonstrations, customer evaluations, contract negotiations, deal closures, and client retention. You will be responsible for defining, building, and implementing the internal go-to-market sales process to support our growing sales strategy. Additionally, you will assist team members in focusing on various sports, including baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, flag football, cheer, dance, gymnastics, and pickleball. Your leadership will be essential in driving revenue growth by prospecting, qualifying, selling, and closing event management clients. You will also be tasked with meeting and exceeding quarterly and annual revenue targets through strategic sales initiatives. Developing and maintaining a prospect and customer list based on strategic marketing data will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will managing client relationships throughout the sales cycle with a consultative solutions sales approach. You will conduct one-on-one and group sales presentations to showcase the features and benefits of our products, while also tracking customer information, forecasts, and reports in our CRM system to ensure accurate records. The travel requirements for this position can vary based on business needs, with an average expectation of 10-15% travel each year.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage the national sales team including day-to-day pipeline management of deal qualification, discovery, platform demos, customer evaluation, contract negotiating, deal closing and client retention.
  • Define, build, and implement the internal go-to-market sales process to support our growing sales team and strategy.
  • Assist the sales team with winning key and larger accounts across the sports and group housing pipeline.
  • Lead efforts to grow revenue by prospecting, qualifying, selling, and closing event management clients.
  • Meet and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets through strategic sales initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a prospect and customer list based on strategic marketing data and other sources for sales leads.
  • Manage prospective client relationships throughout the sales cycle, providing a consultative solutions sales process to meet their unique needs.
  • Conduct one-on-one and group sales presentations, showcasing the features and benefits of Playbook365 and GPS.
  • Track customer information, forecasts, and reports in the CRM system to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience leading a national sales team to achieve sales targets.
  • Proven sales experience in the youth and amateur sports event management industry, with a focus on national accounts and team management.
  • Strong ability to maintain and grow an existing book of business.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both individually and in groups.
  • Tech-savvy with a passion for applying innovative technology in sports event management; familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot) and sales forecasting.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Leadership, Marketing, Account Management, and Product Development.
  • 5+ years of stable and successful sales experience.
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of sales professionals.
  • Ability to foster a positive work environment and recognize achievements.
  • Hands-on experience with digital technologies.
  • Familiarity with the youth sports landscape, key players, and leading companies.
  • Proven track record of sales success; experience in SaaS sales is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-directed and driven to exceed goals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience selling into the event industry vertical is a plus.
  • Experience with sales presentations in a technology environment is a plus.
