About the position

The National Sales, Finals & Deal Strategy Manager/Director at The Standard is responsible for developing strategies and tactics for Premier Market sales, specifically targeting $10M+ sales opportunities. The role aims to enhance closing ratios and asset sales in this critical market segment while providing leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the sales team. The position involves frequent national travel and can be filled at either the Manager or Director level, depending on the candidate's experience and skill set.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies and tactics for Premier Market sales.
  • Enhance closing ratios and asset sales in the Premier Market segment.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to sales and services team members.
  • Leverage industry insights and consultative selling techniques.
  • Continuously improve the finalist meeting process and share best practices.
  • Conduct pipeline check-ins and strategy calls with regional sales reps.
  • Facilitate enhanced data collection on Premier Market sales activity and key metrics.
  • Collaborate with the RFP team to improve the Premier Market RFP response repository.
  • Lead internal sales strategy calls for Premier Market.
  • Participate in finalist meetings covering technology demos and other agenda items.
  • Identify and promote best practices for Premier Market sales.
  • Represent The Standard at industry conferences and events.
  • Update the Premier Market Sales Playbook as best practices evolve.
  • Create custom presentation decks for Premier Market prospects in collaboration with Marketing.
  • Track results of sales finals and emphasize continuous improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience in mid/large-market defined contribution market-facing sales.
  • Professional certification required: Series 6/7, Series 63 (where applicable), or Series 65 license, and a life insurance license within 90 days of hire.
