About the position

The National Sales Manager/Acetone Product Manager at INEOS Phenol is responsible for driving sales of acetone products and services, leveraging technical and customer knowledge to influence clients and generate revenue. This role involves market planning, product development, and maintaining safety standards while promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety as the highest priority and abide by all INEOS safety policies and procedures.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
  • Analyze sales statistics to determine sales potential and inventory requirements.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
  • Work with the Sales Team to optimize acetone pricing across the portfolio.
  • Maintain market knowledge of the regional acetone supply/demand balances.
  • Determine best strategy to pursue customer business and increase market share.
  • Display or demonstrate product features using samples or catalogues.
  • Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimate delivery dates to customers based on production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions and keep expense accounts.
  • Coordinate customer training and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
  • Attend trade shows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • 10 or more years in the Chemical/Refining Industry with experience in Manufacturing, Procurement, Production Planning, Logistics, Business Management, and Sales.
  • Contract negotiation experience.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and solve problems independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SAP.
  • Familiarity with Emerson Distributive Control System and PI Data Historian.
