About the position

Essity Health and Medical Solutions is seeking an experienced National Sales Manager to lead our efforts in the advanced wound care sector. This role is pivotal in driving profitable growth and enhancing the capabilities of our sales organization. The National Sales Manager will oversee a diverse range of wound care products, including surgical tapes, post-operative dressings, and specialized band aids, marketed under the Cutimed and Hydrofera brands. As the fifth largest player globally in this market, Essity is committed to providing innovative solutions that cater to both hospital settings and home care needs. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans that align with corporate goals and regional sales quotas. You will direct sales forecasting activities, ensuring that your team is held accountable through CRM systems, and set performance goals accordingly. Your leadership will motivate and inspire field sales personnel to achieve their best, providing necessary training and coaching through regular field visits. You will also be tasked with removing barriers to success and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures. The role requires a strong communicator who can drive action throughout the organization, enhance accountability to business targets, and develop robust strategic business plans that are updated quarterly. You will monitor and guide your sales team to improve their selling skills and build sustainable customer relationships. Additionally, you will identify and communicate regional issues related to customers and competitors, attend trade shows, and uphold the company's ethical standards of conduct. This position can be located anywhere in the continental United States and will require an average travel commitment of 60%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals and achieve regional sales quota.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and hold the team accountable to forecast via CRM, setting performance goals accordingly.
  • Motivate, lead, and inspire field sales personnel to perform to their best abilities.
  • Provide necessary training, coaching, and conduct regular field visits to develop clinical and sales employees.
  • Remove barriers and impediments to success, within scope.
  • Ensure that corporate policies and procedures are followed.
  • Act as a conduit for information to the home office.
  • Drive to exceed targets for sales, expense controls, and account penetration.
  • Develop robust and compelling strategic business plans updated on a quarterly basis including plans on new opportunities.
  • Monitor, guide, and coach sales team to achieve business targets, improve selling skills (strategic and tactical) and productivity, and build sustainable customer relationships.
  • Identify customer, competitor, and other regional issues and communicate to appropriate personnel.
  • Attend trade shows and sales meetings as needed.
  • Communicate, model, and monitor conformance to company ethical standards of conduct.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years medical sales experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of successful people management experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong track record of hiring top talent and developing sales representatives and managers
  • Strong goal setting and implementation skills demonstrated by a clear record of accomplishments in prior personal and professional pursuits
  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Office and sales tracking database systems
  • Prior experience using customer relationship management automation systems
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal skills
  • Demonstrated presentation creation and delivery skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills inclusive of the ability to work with diverse groups
