About the position

The National AMI Sales Manager at Aclara is a pivotal role focused on leading the sales team across North America to drive the adoption of innovative water management solutions. This position emphasizes strategic leadership, relationship building, and market influence to ensure Aclara's prominence in the water utility sector. The role requires a seasoned leader who can inspire a team, develop comprehensive sales strategies, and engage with key stakeholders to foster growth and sustainability in water management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of Sales Directors and Technical Application Engineers.
  • Develop comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and surpass sales targets.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including high-level executives and industry influencers.
  • Represent Aclara at industry events and trade shows, delivering compelling presentations.
  • Identify new business opportunities and spearhead initiatives to solidify market leadership.
  • Maintain high-level relationships within customer organizations for effective partnerships.
  • Keep account information updated in Salesforce.com and assist in managing Sales Performance Quotas.
  • Participate in relevant industry trade shows and meetings as needed.
  • Build strong relationships with potential accounts before RFP issuance.
  • Lead the proposal response strategy process with Sales Directors and Technical Application Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
  • At least five years of direct selling experience within the utility market.
  • Deep understanding of regional utility dynamics and regulatory landscapes.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Proven experience in mentoring and leading teams to exceed goals.
  • Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
