About the position

The National Sales Manager for Freight Forwarding will play a pivotal role in leading the sales team and formulating effective sales strategies aimed at boosting revenue and expanding market share within the Shipping and Logistics Freight Forwarding sector. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of the freight forwarding landscape, coupled with substantial experience in managing sales teams. The successful candidate will be tasked with not only driving sales but also fostering a collaborative environment that aligns with the company's operational and financial objectives. In this role, the National Sales Manager will develop and implement innovative sales strategies designed to meet and exceed revenue targets. This includes leading, motivating, and managing the sales team to ensure that both individual and collective goals are achieved. The manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and nurturing relationships with key accounts, which is essential for sustaining growth in a competitive market. Additionally, the National Sales Manager will analyze market trends and competitor activities to pinpoint opportunities for expansion. Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, such as operations, finance, and customer service teams, will be crucial for the seamless execution of sales initiatives. The role also involves conducting regular sales meetings and training sessions to equip the sales team with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed. Regular reporting on sales performance and forecasts to the Director of Sales will be a key responsibility, ensuring that the leadership team is informed and aligned with sales objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and increase market share
  • Lead, motivate and manage the sales team to achieve individual and team targets
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with key accounts
  • Analyze market trends and competitors to identify opportunities for growth
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and customer service teams
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless execution of sales plans
  • Conduct sales meetings and trainings to ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to achieve sales targets
  • Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to the Director of Sales

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Sales in the Shipping and Logistics Freight Forwarding industry
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful sales strategies
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key accounts
  • Analytical and strategic thinking with the ability to identify market trends and opportunities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM software
