About the position

AbbVie is seeking a National Sales Manager for GI Care, a remote position that requires frequent travel to New York and Illinois. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating various sales support functions and activities for the franchise sales force. This role involves integrating and executing marketing strategies to maximize return on investment (ROI) and coordinating the franchise sales training program. The National Sales Manager will analyze and develop training opportunities in collaboration with Sales Training, Marketing, and Sales Managers to enhance the effectiveness of the in-field sales force. The successful candidate will work proactively across the Franchise, Head of Sales, and Head of Marketing to bring innovative ideas, processes, and resources to achieve key objectives. Anticipating the needs of the Franchise and Head of Sales is crucial, particularly regarding product needs within the GI Care portfolio and the overall development and timing of sales, marketing, and field personnel. The National Sales Manager will take the lead in key areas such as Meetings, Sales Leadership, Performance, Communication, and Leadership Development. Additionally, this role includes developing and delivering a communication platform for the Head of Sales and working cross-functionally with Sales Management and various AbbVie sales support organizations to create, implement, and optimize necessary sales support initiatives. The National Sales Manager will identify opportunities, create strategies, and leverage sales tools to optimize sales opportunities. They will also support the franchise sales training program by analyzing training and developmental opportunities within the sales force and coordinating with various stakeholders to implement training initiatives. Leading the development and execution of all Sales meetings, including RDDM, NM, Leadership Development, and New Leader Onboarding, is another key responsibility. The National Sales Manager will partner with the VP, Head of Sales, Director of Commercial Strategy, and other departments to build a successful vision and experience for each meeting or initiative. Furthermore, they will analyze and understand the sales operations needs of the field, working with Sales Management and Sales Operations to optimize sales performance. Collaboration with the Director of Commercial Strategy in developing sales force incentive programs is also essential, as is facilitating teamwork between various departments to ensure clear communication and maximize morale and motivation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate various sales support functions and activities for the franchise sales force.
  • Integrate and execute marketing strategies to maximize ROI.
  • Coordinate the franchise sales training program, including analysis and development of training opportunities.
  • Work jointly with marketing and training to clarify and integrate marketing strategies into Sales Training.
  • Anticipate the needs of the Franchise and Head of Sales to deliver key areas for success of products and development.
  • Lead key areas of the Franchise, including Meetings, Sales Leadership, Performance, Communication, and Leadership Development.
  • Develop and deliver the Head of Sales communication platform.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales Management and AbbVie sales support organizations to optimize sales support initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities and implement strategies to leverage sales tools and programs.
  • Support the franchise sales training program and analyze training opportunities within the sales force.
  • Lead development and execution of all Sales meetings and initiatives.
  • Analyze and understand the sales operations needs of the field and work with Sales Management to optimize sales performance.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Commercial Strategy to develop sales force incentive programs.
  • Develop and implement a sales force communication plan with Regional Directors and Sales Director.

Requirements
