About the position

The National Sales Manager at Kona Kai San Diego is responsible for expanding the resort's partnership footprint and creating new revenue streams. This role focuses heavily on business development, identifying and cultivating new partnerships, and achieving revenue targets. The position requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a passion for the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on business development strategy for new potential partnerships, including pipeline, sourcing, presentation pitches, opportunity assessment, and contract negotiations (75% of the time)
  • Manage a small territory for incoming leads (25% of the time)
  • Attend large-scale trade shows throughout the year to cultivate new business, with travel about 20%
  • Leverage existing connections to build and cultivate a deep and trusted network of potential partners
  • Identify new opportunities to grow partnerships and unlock new revenue
  • Develop strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to understand areas of optimization
  • Support team leaders in maintaining compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches to potential partners
  • Track all opportunities, pipelines, and bookings to provide forecasts and funnel management reports

Requirements

  • College degree and/or a minimum of 5 years of hotel sales experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with Delphi is a plus
  • Understanding of Revenue Management principles and practices, including pricing strategies
  • Excellent leadership communication skills: ability to present, negotiate, and influence
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed revenue targets
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented
