About the position

The National Sales Manager - Kroger is responsible for achieving net sales and profitability goals for Kroger, Harris Teeter, and Roundy's. This role involves executing sales strategies, developing business relationships, and utilizing data-driven insights to enhance sales performance. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and contribute to a team-focused culture aimed at improving consumer wellness through food.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive annual sales targets and strategies for each brand, including sales forecasts and trade spend recommendations.
  • Manage the annual sales budget for assigned retail accounts, tracking and reporting on sales performance.
  • Set annual trade spend targets and ensure compliance with established objectives.
  • Oversee pricing strategies to meet profitability goals and ensure competitive positioning.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Suja Life and retail partners, fostering strong relationships with category managers.
  • Create and deliver compelling sales presentations in collaboration with Category Management.
  • Analyze sales data and provide strategic recommendations for growth based on insights from various data sources.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department to develop account-specific marketing strategies and materials.
  • Manage order processes to ensure optimal product availability within assigned accounts.
  • Conduct strategic market analysis to stay informed about industry trends and competitive landscape.
  • Evaluate and manage the broker and distributor network within the assigned sales region.
  • Represent Suja Life at regional and national trade shows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of sales and category management experience within the food industry.
  • Experience within the Kroger enterprise is essential.
  • Proven track record in direct sales and broker/distributor management.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools such as Nielsen and IRI/SPINS.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and data portals like 84.51 Stratum and Market6.

  • Experience in an entrepreneurial company is a plus.
  • Ability to build effective alliances with marketing teams.
  • Experience in developing territory and key account businesses.
