About the position

Perry Ellis International is seeking a National Sales Manager for Ladies Callaway Golf and PGA Tour. This role is pivotal in achieving or exceeding the quantified sales budgets set for each account. The National Sales Manager will represent Perry Ellis International's product, image, policies, goals, and objectives while ensuring that budgeted profit goals are maintained. The position requires a strategic approach to interfacing with buyers for successful order execution and involves regular interaction with upper management to align on sales strategies and objectives. The National Sales Manager will be responsible for direct oversight of Ladies Callaway Golf and PGA Tour, alongside standard Account Executive duties. This includes meeting with retail buyers and upper management to present product releases continuously and selling to achieve set budgets for each account. The role also involves partnering with the Planning Department to ensure gross margin goals are met, building and managing budgets and sales forecasts, and developing assortments and door plan recommendations. A critical aspect of the role is understanding the chargebacks process of each account and establishing action points to reduce them. Preparation for meetings is essential, including strategizing and organizing sales presentations, setting up meeting agendas, and providing proactive meeting recaps. The National Sales Manager will also be responsible for inventory management, ensuring that available stock is moved effectively to sell. Travel to accounts and trade shows will be necessary as part of the role, and maintaining accurate sales information in the system is crucial.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed quantified sales budgets set for each account.
  • Represent Perry Ellis International product, image, policies, goals, and objectives.
  • Interface with buyers for successful order execution.
  • Interact strategically with PEI upper management.
  • Meet with retail buyers and upper management to present product releases and sell to achieve set budgets.
  • Partner with the Planning Department to ensure gross margin goals are achieved.
  • Build, manage, and deliver budgets and sales forecasts.
  • Develop and present assortments and door plan recommendations.
  • Understand the chargebacks process of each account and establish action points to reduce them.
  • Prepare for meetings by strategizing and organizing sales presentations, including meeting agendas and recaps.
  • Manage inventory effectively to move available stock to sell.
  • Travel to accounts and trade shows as necessary.
  • Ensure sales information is accurate on the system.

Requirements

  • 4 year college degree
  • Minimum of 5 years proven record in men's apparel sales and/or retail buying experience
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to upper management and retailers.
  • Ability to work directly with Merchandising, Design, Marketing, Sourcing, and other departments within PEI.
  • Excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage accounts independently.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Advanced knowledge of retail math.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
