About the position

The National Sales Manager will lead the sales efforts for a pool brand, focusing on wholesale and B2B sales. This role involves building and managing a sales team, developing business strategies, and ensuring customer satisfaction while driving profitability and market share growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage wholesale and B2B sales of the pool brand.
  • Build an effective sales team and increase sales and profitability.
  • Prospect potential new clients and conduct professional presentations on products.
  • Attend relevant tradeshows and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Identify client needs and provide quotes and product data as needed.
  • Close sales and ensure appropriate delivery and support warehouse and A/R collections efforts.
  • Assess local market conditions and develop forecasts and business plans.
  • Provide financial management including budget, P&L, and brand expenses.
  • Manage both inside and outside sales efforts and coordinate with preferred vendors.
  • Hire, train, direct, and manage all pool brand personnel involved with sales and customer service.
  • Provide oversight of operations and work with warehouse and purchasing on inventory targets.
  • Lead business growth through new product development and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in the pool & spa industry, including a minimum of 2 years of B2B Sales.
  • Strong sales aptitude and ability to manage a team of sales representatives.
  • Knowledge of industrial product lines such as pool and spa equipment, pumps, lighting, and accessories.
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience with full profit and loss responsibility.
  • Experience hiring, training, and managing staff.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Familiarity with inventory control software and customer management sales systems.
  • Proven track record of successful sales in a wholesale environment.
  • Ability to cold call on prospective clients.
  • Strong knowledge of pool-related equipment and accessories.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Netsuite or similar inventory control software.
