About the position

The National Sales Manager - Refinish is responsible for leading sales strategies to achieve company goals while managing the quality and consistency of products and service delivery from the sales team. This role requires strong persuasive skills, the ability to develop and deliver presentations, and proficiency in creating written materials. The position is fully remote, involves significant travel (approximately 70%), and requires maintaining a professional image to the public.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies with the sales team to meet company goals.
  • Lead nationwide sales team members to present and sell company products and services to current and potential customers.
  • Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and project the number of contacts to be made.
  • Monitor sales activity and take action to address any adverse fluctuations.
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
  • Support the negotiation and closing of agreements with large customers.
  • Support the preparation of presentations, proposals, and sales contracts as needed.
  • Liaise with Marketing and Product Development departments to ensure brand consistency.
  • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
  • Stay up to date with new product launches and ensure sales team members are on board.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving client concerns.
  • Prepare a variety of status reports including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
  • Collaborate with company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars and trade shows.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements.
  • Assist in completing performance reviews and offering strategies to improve employee performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred in a business-related discipline.
  • 5+ years of B2B Technical Sales Management experience with Industrial alignment.
  • Automotive Paint alignment strongly preferred.
  • People Management experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to initiate and execute with limited assistance.
  • Effective writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Assertive, analytical problem solver with a can-do attitude.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • CRM experience.
  • Comfortable communicating effectively at all levels of the organization.
