About the position

The National Sales Manager at Arbor Day Foundation is responsible for driving national sales for hotel guest rooms, meeting packages, catering services, and banquet facilities. This role involves building and nurturing business relationships, meeting sales goals, and representing the organization at various events. The position is remote, based in the Kansas City area, with some onsite responsibilities in Nebraska City.

Responsibilities

  • Increase national sales for hotel guest rooms, meeting packages, catering services, and banquet facilities.
  • Prospect, solicit, and enroll new business on a national level, including making cold calls.
  • Meet and exceed national sales goals and expectations.
  • Effectively handle sales negotiations and expedite bringing prospective clients to contract.
  • Focus on revenue-producing activities and maximize time spent on direct sales efforts across the country.
  • Establish and maintain a national client base through direct outside and inside sales efforts.
  • Represent Lied Lodge at national trade shows, on sales blitzes, during familiarization tours, and at industry organization meetings.
  • Develop customer profiles and maintain an effective trace system to meet client and operational needs.
  • Maintain a well-documented, accurate, organized, and up-to-date file management system.
  • Coordinate internal and external services to meet/exceed client needs and specifications nationwide.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and achievement of the annual National Sales Plan.
  • Consistently communicate the mission of the Foundation and the value of partnering with the Foundation.

Requirements

  • A passion for effectively building and nurturing business relationships on a national scale.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated time management and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills with in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in OPERA proprietary software or related industry-specific software systems preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in hotel sales strongly preferred.
